8/8-BREATHES THERE AN AMERICAN WITH POLITICAL SOUL SO ASLEEP HE’S NEVER WONDERED, “WHY DO WE NEED ALL THAT HIGH CRIMES AND MISDEMEANORS STUFF? WHY CAN’T WE DUMP A PRESIDENT JUST FOR BEING BAD?

A few days ago an old friend of Barry called and asked, “Do you remember where you were forty years ago this coming Friday?”  Barry didn’t have a clue.  “We were together watching Richard Nixon resign the presidency,” said old friend DON O’SULLIVAN.  O’Sullivan visits with Sara and Barry this evening to review the recollections and implication of that long-ago Friday night.

8/7- REMOVE THE HYPE, HYPERBOLE AND SENSATIONALISM – AND YOU STILL HAVE MANY MORE “CHILDREN WITH PREVIOUS LIVES” THAN ANYONE CAN POSSIBLY EXPLAIN!

8/6-THANKS TO BARRY’S ADMIRATION OF HIM, THE VOICE OF DEPARTED AUTHOR LAURENS VAN DER POST, IS HEARD AGAIN IN THIS WORLD ARGUING, NOT THE MORAL ACCEPTABILITY, BUT THE MORAL NECESSITY OF USING THE A-BOMB ON JAPAN.

August 6 is the sixty-ninth anniversary of the first dropping of an atomic bombs on the Japanese city of Hiroshima.  Almost every moral authority in the world has concluded it was a hideous immoral act.  Many Americans apologize and point out the Sunday sneak attack and well-known brutality of the wartime Japanese “made us do it.”  Those who do argue the moral acceptability of using the nuclear weapon against Japan usually cite the number of lives – American and Japanese military and civilian –  spared by the “quick knock-out” of Japan from the war they started.  Barry once interviewed South African author Laurence van der Post who spent the war in a Japanese concentration camp in Java.  Barry was totally captured by his reasoning and makes the case that using the nuclear bombs was not only morally acceptable, but morally necessary.  And that van der Post argument doesn’t invoke the life of one single American or Japanese soldier or one single Japanese civilian who would have been lost invading the Japanese homeland. Barry presents the van der Post argument this evening.

8/5-WE’VE KNOWN ABOUT THE KNEE-JERK LEFT FOR AGES. KEVIN “COACH” COLLINS REPRESENTS THE “EDUCATED RIGHT”!

Friends have been known to exchange gifts with each other over the centuries.  Barry is exchanging “concerns” with the founder of one of the most worth-while websites in Internet history.  Kevin “Coach” Collins, architect of the website coachisright.com is an ardent Catholic on a levitational high at the moment after attending a pro-Israel rally in Florida.  Barry is Jewish and highly confused and concerned with Pope Francis’s sharp swing to the left.  Coach and Barry share those concerns – and a lot more – when Coach Collins visits with Sara and Barry this evening.
