12/9-THE GREATEST SPY, THE COUNTERFET TRAITOR, SWEDISH-AMERICAN ERIC ERICKSON, WAS PLAYED ON SCREEN BY WILLIAM HOLDEN. ERICKSON SAID OF HOLDEN, “I WAS NEVER THAT GOOD LOOKING. HOLDEN SAID OF ERICKSON, “I WAS NEVER THAT BRAVE.”!

The sudden attention to the activities of the CIA reminded Barry of what he simply calls “The greatest spy story of our lifetime!”  It’s a tale of World War II and Barry tells the story to Sara and the listeners this evening.

12/8-BOYCOTTS ARE SUPPOSED TO HARM THE ONES BEING BOYCOTTED. HERE’S A NEW KIND OF BOYCOTT WITH A NEW TWIST.

 The Grand Ayatlloh of Iran, Ali Khamenei, appealed to all Muslims world-wide to boycott everything that originated with the Jewish people.  A pharmacist named Meyer M. Treinkman, in response, decided to help the Ayatolloh by pointing out some things the Muslims will then have to do without.  Barry will read the entire summary which is only a fragment of the full report.

12/4- WE OVERCAME. AND WHAT DID WE WIND UP WITH? DOES IT REALLY TAKE THE BLACK AND THE WHITE KEYS OF THE PIANO TO PLAY THE STAR-SPANGLED BANNER?

JOURNALISTIC incest is legal,moral and in many cases quite interesting.  Barry is a Southerner and took a high-profile role in the civil rights movement, leading the fight to desegregate Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.  Sara is from a “Yankee” state, Ohio, and grew up remote from those clashes.  This evening, amid the swirling protests of Ferguson in Missouri segueing right into the protests over Garner in New York, Barry will be Sara’s guest.  Actually that’s not exactly incest.  They’re, after all, married!

12/3-WHEN EVERYBODY WAS SAYING, “HOW DO YOU EXPECT A 90% MAJORITY (ALBANIAN) TO LIVE UNDER THE FLAG OF A 10% MINORITY (SERBIAN), BARRY WAS TELLING HIS AUDIENCE ABOUT A EUROPEAN PARADISE WHERE 97% MAJORITY LIVES HAPPILY UNDER THE FLAG OF A 7% MINORITY. (ETHNIC SWEDES IN FINLAND’S AALAND ISLANDS!)

Maybe this is too big a question to ask, even for an ambitious talk show, but why is it different races and ethnic groups get along in some places and not in others?  DR. ROBERT RODRIGUEZ, famous historian and folk-lore specialist, will give it his best effort as he visits with Sara and Barry this evening.

12/2-THE BATTLEFIELD ISN’T THE ONLY PLACE WHERE YOU’LL FIND MONUMENTAL ACTS OF COURAGE. HOW ABOUT A SMALL CHURCH!

Sara and Barry went all the way back to the first few days after the Civil War to capture a rich slice of history regarding a courageous act by Confederate General Robert E. Lee that might serve as “good medicine for Ferguson” today.

12/1-BENJAMIN FRANKLIN, WHEN ASKED WHAT KIND OF GOVERNMENT OUR FOUNDERS WERE GIVING US, REPLIED, “A REPUBLIC, IF YOU CAN KEEP IT.” WELL, DID WE?

It finally came.  After 54 years on the air, Barry finally feels able to wave a piece of paper in the air and say, “This is the most impressive piece of correspondence I’ve ever gotten from a listener, a viewer or a reader.  It deals with what kind of government our Founding Fathers promised us versus where we find ourselves today.  The writer of that championship letter is ROBERT RAFFEALLI of California and Barry will present, not just the letter, but Mr. Raffealli himself as he visits with Sara and Barry this evening.  Barry is particularly proud of what he’s decided to ask as his first question!
