11/2- IS CONSERVATISM A VOTE-GETTER IN AMERICA TODAY? CAN CONSERVATIVE VALUES EVER COMPETE WITH “FREE STUFF”?

The title “First Lady of Conservatism” doesn’t begin to do justice to PHYLLIS SCHLAFLY.   It suggests she married some big-deal Conservative or starred in a political campaign or two.  Schlafly actually LAUNCHED the Conservative movement as we know it with her block-busting book “A Choice, Not an Echo” touting the candidacy of Sen. Barry Goldwater in 1964.  She’s credited with defeating the Equal Rights Amendment in the 1970s which couldn’t even carry New York and New Jersey!  Her books, columns and speeches fortify her claim to the highest title imaginable!  Schlafly visits with Sara and Barry this evening to measure the bandwidth of conservatism within today’s GOP.
