In
basketball the player who commits a foul has to raise his hand. Good
rule. Barry admits he committed a political foul and willingly agrees to
raise his hand here and now. Last Sunday’s CBS “60 Minutes” ran its lead
piece on the negotiations that freed American Allen Gross from a Cuban
prison. Barry dashed to shoot an e-mail to his favorite writer,
Cuban-born HUMBERTO FONTOVA, exuberating and rhapsodizing the show as
“unexpected fresh air”; maybe a signal the American media is changing its
ways!” Fontova shot back, “I saw it and I was DISGUSTED!” Fontova
explained why. And like apologizing to a patient school-master, Barry
apologized to Humberto explaining he was so staggered to hear CBS refer to
“Communist Cuba” as a “repressive dictatorship” he overlooked the fact that
Obama had to free five Cuban spies in American prisons for an innocent American
Castro set up and was holding hostage; and a lot of other stuff Fontova will
point out when he visits with Sara and Barry this evening.
