10/4-It was a mistake to allow the vice prudency to become so much of a comic side-show in the first place. Look how many American vice presidents have become presidents while serving as vice president plus the number who were later elected to the presidency on their own!

How do we make tonight’s vice presidential debate a little juicier; invest it with some fresh appeal to the listeners?  Only one way, perhaps.  The relative unimportance of the vice presidential players traditionally should be readjusted upward to account for the wide, deep and energetic unpopularity of both candidates at the head of the tickets.  That may make this the most important vice presidential debate of our lives!  National Conservative lives talk host JOSHUA BERNSTEIN visits with Sara and Barry this evening.
