Hollywood
history can be dull. That’s rare, but possible; not however when that
Hollywood history is in the hands of HOWARD GROSS. Hedy Lamarr became an
inventor during War World II. This was no girlie fashion accessory
either. Lamarr was co-inventor of a highly sophisticated “frequency-hopping”
communications device the Defense Department never used during World War II but
eventually recognized the value of and it came into military use during the
Cuban Missile Crisis. Lamarr worked with Lana Turner and Judy Garland in
the making of “The Ziegfeld Girl. Those three aggregated a total of 17
husbands. Gross visits with Sara and Barry this evening.
