Rip Van WInkle probably didn't miss as much napping for twenty whole years inside that hollow log as Sara and Barry missed today through total cable failure across the West Side of Manhattan. Writer-Professor-Scientist-Inventor ADRIAN VANCE joins our cut-off couple to lend -- or take away -- historical gravitas from that theory, plus comment on what happens to our civilization if, instead of half-a-day cable failure, America were to experience an EMP explosion in the atmosphere.
