The owner of a little Hispanic grocery store -- a
"bodega" -- in New Jersey, Pedro Quesada, has won all of the $338
MILLION dollar award in the lottery; no partners, no "office
pool". It's all his. Do we envy him, or pity him? Not a stupid question! Barry fished out an aging New York Times
story on what happens to ordinary people who win fabulous jackpots and are
suddenly very wealthy. And the amounts
the Times story dealt with was only $39 million, NOT 338! Though that's a "disease" you might
love to have, it can be terrible; even fatal.
