Some
people scorn the “moral victory” in sports and politics. Sports doesn’t
matter so much. Politics does. Democrat Corey Booker, mayor of Newark, N.
J., won the special election to replace the late Senator Lautenberg over
Republican STEVE LONEGAN. Lonegan’s surge virtually closed the gap and
seized the momentum – until the government shut-down unplugged the Lonegan
catch-up. Lonegan visits Sara and Barry this evening to defend the notion
that the shut down, not the Democrats, won that race.
