3/29- HOW CAN NORTH KOREA TODAY MAKE THE MAD-MAN DICTATORS OF WORLD WAR II LOOK LIKE THE DANISH PARLIAMENT?

Barry's best friend happens to be North Korean; in fact, he's the only member of the North Korean Communist army that invaded South Korea.  nd, let's call him "Zang Il", insisted all the belligerent talk from the young dictator was nothing but image-building bluster.  We'll see if that estimation has changed.  Barry, solo again this evening, will remind listeners how much has changed since the well-armed Communist North attacked the helpless, hapless and hopeless South Korea in June, 1950.

3/28-PLEASE SEND HELP. IMMEDIATELY. EMERGENCY. I'M RICH!

The owner of a little Hispanic grocery store -- a "bodega" -- in New Jersey, Pedro Quesada, has won all of the $338 MILLION dollar award in the lottery; no partners, no "office pool".  It's all his.  Do we envy him, or pity him?  Not a stupid question!  Barry fished out an aging New York Times story on what happens to ordinary people who win fabulous jackpots and are suddenly very wealthy.  And the amounts the Times story dealt with was only $39 million, NOT 338!  Though that's a "disease" you might love to have, it can be terrible; even fatal.  Barry, solo this evening, will read enough of the article to give you the point.

3/27- WHAT ARE INSURANCE RATES FOR EX-MUSLIMS WHO WRITE BOOKS ENTITLED "THE CASE FOR ISLAMOPHOBIA"?

Islamophobia was welcomed into its place in American acceptance of all races and religions.  Most Americans will protest if you call them "Islamophobic".  A suprising voice is speaking out who thinks Islamophobia is a good idea.  He used to be a Muslim himself and is quite familiar with what he sees as an Islamic threat to America and the west.  He's WALID SHOEBAT and among his books are "Why We Want To Kill You" and "Why I Left Jihad".  Shoebat presents his new book.
"The Case FOR Islamophobia" as he visits with Sara and Barry this evening.

3/26-SURE, THERE WAS HUMOR DURING WORLD WAR II. THE READER'S DIGEST WAS CRITICIZED FOR RUNNING A REGULAR FEATURE ENTITLED "HUMOR IN UNIFORM".

In talk radio, with some guests, it's not over even when it's over.  Yesterday popular folk-lorist Robert Rodriguez (blind since birth; happy and productive since shortly thereafter) had just returned from a conference on humor in the UK.  One of the topics at the conference was, "Was there anything funny during World War II?"  Rodriguez then rattled off a dozen or so funny incidents he'd heard Barry tell over the years, but there was no time to elaborate.  Barry solo this evening goes back and fills in the blanks alluded to by Mr. Rodriguez.

3/25-A TEN-YEAR-OLD BOY ONCE SAID HE PREFERRED RADIO TO TV BECAUSE, "THE PICTURES ARE CLEARER." BOB RODRIGUEZ FEELS THAT WAY ABOUT BEING BLIND!

ROBERT RODRIGUEZ, popular folk-lorist who triggers vivid, even breath-taking images from the greenest part of Ireland to ancient Persia to the Cape Fear River banks of North Carolina where people still speak Elizabethan English to folk festivals in Wales has been totally blind since birth.  Once when he told Sara and Barry he wandered to the club car on a train to "watch the scenery", Barry seemed a bit surprised.  A pin-drop would have seemed like thunder as Rodriguez explained his version of "the mind's eye".  Rodriguez is just back from a trip.  He visits Sara and Barry tonight to tell them what he "saw".

3/21- REACH DOWN DEEPER. THE KEY'S GOT TO BE DOWN THERE SOMEWHERE!

What American around tax time doesn't applaud in his heart the crusty old codger who outwits the IRS auditors and has them begging for mercy? Professor-writer-scientist-inventor ADRIAN VANCE was asked by Barry what thoughts were ricocheting through his recollections at this time.  Vance replied, "I think I have the key to unleashing the domination of the Republican Party.  With the alacrity of a Mexican bull-fighting champ, Barry pirouetted out of Vance's way and agreed to make that his first question and not try to hurry him on up with the answer. Vance joins Sara and Barry this evening with "Spotlight on that Key!"
