The
armed intruder puts his pistol on the table while he looks under the sofa for
an ice cube that was keeping his drink cool. His hostages need only reach
over and take the pistol to let him know they’re not hostages any more and he’d
better remain right there on the floor until the police arrive, but they don’t
think of it. Hollywood would never employ a scene like that. Too
much is wrong with it. Yet in real political life that’s exactly what’s
happening, as the Global Warming holdup-men constantly let their guard down
without result. Teacher-writer-scientist-inventor ADRIAN VANCE visits
with Sara and Barry this evening to speculate on whether America will ever recover
enough of its senses to help themselves to the gun in time!
