Toward
the end of World War II General Eisenhower sent Gen. Patton the message, “Do
not try to take Trier (Germany). Cannot take Trier with fewer than seven
divisions.” Patton wired back, “Have already taken Trier with four
divisions. Do you want me to give it back?” Americans aren’t
accustomed to seeing military gains won by frightening expenditures of blood
and treasure squandered back to the enemy. Right after the battle for
Fallujah in Iraq, war correspondent RICHARD LOWRY write the book “New Dawn”
about that campaign. Now that Al-Qaeda affiliated units have retaken
Fallujah, Richard Lowry returns the visit to Sara and Barry this evening.
