KAVANAU, widely and admiringly known as America’s celebrity TV news producer,
has three times been invited by former dictatorships to come over and show them
how to run a legitimate news operation in what is now a free country. One
of those three countries is Ukraine. Those people manning the barricades
in the capital Kiev aren’t just a “news story” to Ted. They’re his close
personal friends. Kavanau visits with Sara and Barry this evening as
Ukraine fights for its right to ally with America, the European Union and the
West rather than Vladimir Putin’s old “Soviet Union.”
