2/25- THE FIVE-YEAR-OLD GIRL DURING THE VIETNAM WAR WON OUR HEARTS BY ASKING HER FATHER, "WHAT IF THEY GAVE A WAR AND NOBODY SHOWED UP?" TODAY'S VERSION IS, "WHAT IF THEY GAVE A WAR AND ONLY ONE SIDE SHOWED UP; THEIRS?"

When Barry was being interviewed by John Drescher of the Raleigh News and Observer this afternoon he explained his love of radio in one word, "Freedom".  "There's no story today more important, sequester and all, than Col. Ralph Peter's warning that 'We ought to be terrified at what China's doing to us right now!'  If something more important pops up, even during our opening theme music, we'll go with that and not this!"  Also likely to draw mention as Sara and Barry convene this evening: Italy's downward effect on the stock market and the "anti-semitic teddy bear" at the Oscar's.
